About this Class

Geared toward beginning and experienced writers alike, this two-hour generative workshop via Zoom will open with a deconstruction of assumptions about poetry, followed by a brief exploration of contemporary poets that navigate the tangible through the sensory. To spark inspiration, participants will receive a selection of poems that offer a range of techniques and approaches. After a guided meditation, participants will have the opportunity to draft their own poem based on the subconscious journey and discovery of imagery. Afterwards, we will also share and offer encouraging feedback on poem directionality and technique.
